PLEASE NOTE:
Generally, ABGRA requires a securely fenced yard (no electric/invisible fencing), a small dog companion, no children under 14 years old and no unaltered dogs living in the home. Most of our rescued dogs need someone that works from home, can take their dog to work with them or is retired so that the dog is not alone more than a few hours at a time. The majority of the Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers we rescue do not do well with children or large dogs. All adopters must be at least 25 years old and previous dog experience is required. Applications within a short 1-2 hour driving distance of the dog’s foster home are preferred.
To adopt one of our rescued Brussels Griffons, you must be 25 years of age or older. A copy of a photo ID with your current address may be requested as part of the application process. An excellent veterinary reference is also necessary in order to be considered.
The American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance’s goal is to find permanent, secure and attentive homes for our rescued Brussels Griffons, and we know you want the best dog for your situation. This profile will assist us in making the best match possible between you and the Griff.
We place our griffs and affens based on lifestyles, temperaments, and the size of the dog, as well as any special needs the Griff might have. The minimum age for children should be 12 years old or older for adopters. Each dog and child will be evaluated individually for compatibility. We prefer to place griffs and affens where someone is home most of the time. Brussels Griffons do not do well when they are left alone for more than a few hours at a time. Ideal situations include people that work from home, work part time, are allowed to take their pet to work with them, Doggy day care and pet sitters when not at home.
